Meet Mrs. Heiar
I hope this page let's you get to know me a little better! I am very excited to have your student in my class this year!
I graduated from St. Ambrose University in 2007 (Go Bees!) with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I am currently working on completing my Masters in Educational Leadership through Western Illinois University. This is my 4th year teaching second grade in Camanche! I live in the district with my husband, Brent, and our 2 German Shorthairs, Stone and Molly. In my spare time I love to READ and spend time with my nieces and nephews. I was born and raised in this area, and I am very lucky to have all of my family living close by!
My Classroom Philosophy
I believe that learning should be an opportunity shared by all students! Our classroom will be a place where children can feel comfortable being themselves, and sharing their strengths and differences. I support the idea that "busy hands are learning hands", so I try to cooperate as much hands on learning as possible every day! Second grade is all about learning to love learning, and I will try my best to challenge your child through the use of technology and cooperative learning opportunities. I believe strongly that education is a partnership between home, school, and community. I am available at anytime for parent conferences, concerns, or questions. Through working together, we can make 2nd grade an enjoyable and challenging experience.
